Help, Hard Drive Dead, Maybe
Do you lose hard drive space when you format? Maybe there's still some Linux partition on my hard drive that I didn't get rid of? I'm sure though I got rid of all the Linux partitions. There are two for Linux and I remember deleting two. Does it have anything to do with my Master Boot Record?

Another option would be to try the suspect drive in some sort of USB setting: either a posh swanky USB case, or the cheap open power-supply-and-USB-to-IDE-cable thing. (I got my one of those for five pounds at a computer show a year or two ago. Obviously, make sure it has the laptop-type connector - the one I've

So I did what I usually did when there was a problem with my hard-drive, I changed it from master to slave(that always helps when my bios won't detect the hard-drive). A Little Hard Drive Help Needed
If you have a proper Windows disk, you need to just wipe the hard drive in DOS and run the setup from the XP disk. I haven't tried it, but it should ask you for the other Windows disk to install XP. If your drive crashes, then everything on the partition gets trashed, as opposed to the one particular "section" of the drive. OK, so I've got my 120gb external HD, USB. If I want to clone my C Drive, could I simply drag the icon of my C Drive into the icon of my external Drive?
